Current research

My laboratory is interested in the molecular mechanisms by which cilia and flagella assemble. In particular, we focus on proteins that localize specifically to the ciliary/flagellar tip (e.g. EB1) and the molecular mechanisms involved in regulating turn-around of the intraflagellar transport (IFT) machinery at this site. To this end we use both Chlamydomonas and mammalian cell cultures as model systems.
