I am a passionate about understanding better the archaea domain. I have specialized in researching archaea and their viruses, focusing on virus-host interactions and the cell cycle. With scientific experience in three continents and a decade in the archaeal field, my multidisciplinary background in microbiology, molecular biology, genetics, biochemistry, and bioinformatics enables me to use diverse and integrated approaches. I am convinced that you cannot apply what you do not understand, and that studying archaea will contribute importantly to understanding the evolution of life and advance biotechnological application of these organisms. Through my research, I aim to answer questions about their fundamental processes and develop new tools and techniques that bring them to the vanguard of scientific inquiry.
