Hello there, my name is 谢仲秋. My current research is the plant-herbivore-microorganism interactions, specifically, the interactions among strawberry, pest herbivores and entomopathogenic fungi (EPF). In our program, EPF is not only a invertebrate pathogen, but also an endophyte of plants, which promotes plant growth and resists the attack of pests. Figuring out how EPF stimulates the immune system of plants is the most important part of my Ph.D. program.

    Current research

My current research is a part of EU project EXCALIBUR. Using model crops of economic importance (strawberry), to enhance the knowledge on soil biodiversity dynamics and its synergistic effects with prebiotic and probiotic approaches in horticulture, using a multi-actor approach.

    Fields of interest

1、How soil microbes regulate plant growth and immunity

2、The effect of insect symbionts on insects

    3、Biological control of agricultural pests
