I am biologist and biotechnologist by trade, and astrobiologist by heart. I am working with a collection of Greenlandic bacteria that thrive in cold places with high salinity. In particular, I'm studying the small, volatile organic compounds that they produce, how these interact with the atmosphere, and whether we could use them as biomarkers when looking for life on other planets.
