Daisy NMR award - Awardees 2024
The cOpenNMR facility is very happy to announce the three winners of the third edition of the Daisy NMR award. Carolin Parthun, Jesper E. Dreier and Jing Zhao were selected from a pool of great applications for their outstanding projects.
Carolin, a master student at the Department of Biology, is characterizing a luciferin cleaved from the C-terminus of FYY-proteins by time resolved NMR spectroscopy. The goal is to understand the biological pathway of luciferin generation in deep sea organisms.
Jesper, a PhD student at the Department for Drug Design and Pharmacology, wants to study the interplay of alpha synuclein and sphingolipids and see how aggregation properties of a-SN are altered by the presence of sphingolipids.
Jing, a PhD student at the Department for Drug Design and Pharmacology, is developing cyclic peptides that act as molecular glues to connect two target proteins. We want to use NMR to investigate the binding to the individual proteins and characterize the ternary complex.
