Daisy NMR award - Awardees 2025

The cOpenNMR facility is very happy to announce the three winners of the fourth edition of the Daisy NMR award. Anna N. Nielsen, Axel G. Rosenvinge and Henriette Stoy were selected from a pool of great applications for their outstanding projects.

Anna,  a master student at the Department of Chemistry, is working with a Cysteine rich arsenic binding peptide. She has observed that the peptide easily oxidizes under air exposure and we used 1D and 2D NMR to characterize the main oxidation products.

Henriette, a post-doctoral researcher at the Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, has done NMR on a DNA duplex and investigated site specific binding of Uranyl citrate, a reagent that can induce photocleavage of the DNA at specific sites.

Axel, a PhD student at the Department of Biological and Chemical Engineering, University of Aarhus, is studying bacterial cultures from waste water plants and has  synthesized an ionic liquid that can dissolve biofilms completely. We wanted to study the extracted biofilm by 1D and 2D NMR to determine the composition with the long term goal of generating new materials from waste.
