Mathematical models are widely used to predict ecosystem responses to changing environments, extrapolate site-level understanding/data to larger temporal and spatial scales and quantify feedbacks/interactions between different systems.
In this talk, I will take you through different studies, where models were explored together with different scales of observational data to answer research questions, such as, how topographical variations influence wetland biogeochemistry, how land management influence lake eutrophic status and how plant-emitted volatiles and warming-induced vegetation changes can alter atmospheric composition.
