Join us for the prestigious Falling Walls Lab pitch competition where students and young researchers present their breakthrough research in just three minutes!
Pitch your innovative idea
The Falling Walls competition is open to all fields of knowledge, and the selected pitches cover a wide range of topics - from machine learning to microbiomes.
If you are an early-career professional and you would like to participate in the competition, we would love to hear from you!
As a participant in Denmark, you get
– free ½ day communications workshop at UCPH on 27/8
– opportunity to present their work to a general audience (pitch day 4/9 in Frederiksberg – see the program below)
– exposure and reach stakeholders (potential collaborators, investors, users, etc.)
– the possibility to win a trip to Berlin to represent Denmark at the final
The national winner gets
– free trip to Berlin to compete at the international Falling Walls final
– free accommodation
– an exciting programme for 5 days in Berlin, networking and meeting peers, stakeholders, press, potential investors, collaborators, etc.

The event
The competition will take place on 4 September 2026 in Copenhagen. The event is open to the public; everyone is welcome!

More about Falling Walls Lab
Falling Walls Lab is a global pitch competition where students, researchers, and early-career professionals present their breakthrough ideas, research projects, or social models in exactly three minutes. Participants pitch to a distinguished jury and a live audience, explaining how their work can help overcome a significant challenge or barrier.
The concept was inspired by the fall of the Berlin Wall on 9 November 1989. To mark its 20th anniversary in 2009, the Falling Walls Foundation in Berlin created an international conference centred around this symbolic question: “Which are the next walls to fall?” So, now every participant identifies a specific "wall" or obstacle and presents a solution that drives innovation and progress in science or society.
