Funding

Professor Lotte Bang Pedersen, Søren Tvorup Christensen (Section of Cell Biology and Physiology, Department of Biology), and Lars Allan Larsen (Department of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, the Panum Institute) have received funding from Horizon Europe for the collaborative project “TheRaCil: Advancing Therapies for Pediatric Renal Ciliopathies”.

The project was selected in the call "Development of new effective therapies for rare diseases" and brings together 16 partners (main interacting participants at 15 institutions in six countries) and three European consortia with the ambition to develop appropriate and targeted treatments for pediatric renal ciliopathies.

The project is coordinated by Prof. Sophie Saunier at the Imagine Institute in Paris and will benefit from European Commission funding of 7,425,446 euros and co-funding of 540,520 euros from UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). BIO’s and ICMM’s share of the grant is 788,533 euros.
