PhD defense: Shuanshuan Xu

Abstract
As the defense system of the archaea become more diversity, the archaea virus also get the strategies to counter the broken from archaea. Here we analyzed all functional known anti-defense genes encoded by the archaea virus, we found that all the genes are early genes and have identical promoters. Depend on this we developed a new way to find anti-defense protein encoded by archaea virus. And we also found an anti-CRISPR for subtype I-D CRISPR system in Sulfolobus islandicus rod-shaped virus 2(SIRV2).
