I am a PhD student in Guojie Zhang group on Functional Genomics. I am interested in the variation of mutation rate accross vertebrates. Germline mutation is the fundamental source of genetic diversity. I will have a comparative approach to determine the differences of mutation rate in one generation for various vertebrate species including mammalians, birds, fishes, reptiles and amphibians. I am also interested in the mechanisms underlying the variability such as environmental factors or life history traits. Especially, I will explore experimentaly the efficiency of the DNA repair system for the species studied.
