Cellebiologi, molekylærbiologi, epigenetik, elektrofysiologi, hjertefysiologi
Faglig profil
I am biochemist by training and received my PhD degree from the University of Hamburg (Germany). I moved to Copenhagen in 2002 as Assistant Professor. Before becoming Professor at the Department for Biomedical Sciences, I was Associate Professor at the Danish National Research Foundation Centre for Cardiac Arrhythmia. My research is focused on the impact of mutations, molecular regulatory mechanisms and accessory subunits on the function of ion channel complexes with special focus on cardiac arrhythmia. I am especially interested in posttranslational and posttranscriptional regulation of cardiac ion channel complexes. We use methods comprising molecular biology, proteinbiochemistry, cell culture techniques, electrophysiology, ex vivo techniques and animal models.
Undervisning
I am primarily teaching human biology, cell biology and ion channel physiology. With respect to project work - see examples here.
