Transformation of organic matter and biogeochemical processes

Production and import of particulate and dissolved organic matter are key processes in aquatic systems, as well as its photochemical and microbial decomposition. The same is true for physico-chemical and biological processes regulating dynamics of N and P. We have a special emphasis on brownification from dissolved humic substances of lakes and streams. In these studies we apply automatic monitoring systems, surveys, experiments and ecosystem modelling.
