N2 - Caloplaca alstrupii Søchting is described from an old Platanus in Denmark. The sorediate species has a greyish smooth thallus with very characteristic globose to subglobose blister-like areoles that rupture at maturity exposing pale yellowish green soredia. Apothecia sparse, orange, differing from those of the other species having soralia without anthraquinones.
