I'm a biologist with a background on cyanobacteria, molecular biology, genomics and bioinformatics. My work has uncovered novel molecular aspects of the ecology and evolution of cyanobacteria through the study of the genomics, phylogenetics and secondary metabolism of understudied and novel cyanobacterial taxa. My current research is focused on evaluating the factors involved in the associations between cyanobacteria and mosses by using transcriptomics and nitrogen fixation measurements to estimate where these interactions stand in the mutualism-parasitism continuum.
